Fierce Festival is curated by Laura McDermott and Harun Morrison – the festival’s Joint Artistic Directors. We do not run an open call for submissions of work to be shown in the festival programme. It is rare that unsolicited proposals will result in your being programmed in the next year’s festival.
We do, however, encourage you to keep us informed of your work – in any way you can. We are always hunting for new artists interested in live practice, whether those artists define themselves as performance artists, theatre makers, fine artists, installation artists, new media artists, game designers, installation artists, choreographers or something else.
On the whole, the best way for us to get to know your work is to see your work, so
please keep us informed of performances and exhibitions. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with our past programming before you contact us, so that you get a sense of the type of work we present.
Fierce celebrates work that is live, work that needs an audience to activate it. We love work that is surprising, that takes risks, that blurs boundaries between disciplines, that is political or counter-cultural, that sparks conversation and debate. We love work that is aesthetically striking and conceptually rigorous. Is this you? Then get in touch.
Occasionally we do run call outs for specific opportunities for artists with Fierce Festival. To stay up to date with these, please sign up to our email newsletter: www.wearefierce.org
